Motorola Defy Satellite Link

Motorola has launched the Defy Satellite Link, a lightweight Bluetooth device that uses a just-announced MediaTek chipset to connect to Bullitt’s satellites, allowing for two-way messaging even in spots where there’s no traditional cell phone service. Built for outdoor use, it passed Mil-Spec 810H testing and is IP68-rated for protection against water and dust intrusion. Its battery lasts for multiple days per charge, and it also has physical SOS and location check-in buttons for use without a smartphone. It launches later this year as a standalone device or in a bundle with one year of basic service.

The Bigscreen Beyond VR Headset is unique from other sets in that it’s made to specifically fit your face using a scan from the iPhone XR’s TruthDepth sensor. It features a small size and weighs only 4.5 ounces. In terms of specs, there are OLED displays, 5120 x2560 resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The pancake lenses provide a 90-degree field of view with improved clarity (versus a VR headset that uses Frensnel lenses). It’s compatible with Stream VR base stations and controllers and fully supports Stream VR.
